We just got in some fresh crispy Astoria Heron tees! Do you notice a little difference? We took off the “1811” at the bottom. 1811 was a very pivotal year for Astoria, as the first non-indigenous settlers (European-descended fur traders, for the most part) established the trading post that would evolve into our sweet little town. Using “1811” is valid and historical, but we all know the Chinook and Clatsop people, among other tribes, were here well before the Pacific Fur Company entered the picture. The history of this area is rich and deep. But also, fuck colonizers.
We encourage you to wear your old 1811 shirt or your new Heron shirt with confidence! This town is here because of its convoluted, complicated history. The updated artwork, a freakin’ cool looking heron that is also a ship, traversing the choppy, dangerous waters of the Columbia, is by our friend Dave Coyne. Go to Obelisk and drink his beer.
FOR NOW we've left the pics of the old tee up in this listing for the fit shots. Updated photos coming soon! Find the old tee here: Astoria 1811 Heron Tee
