Corduroy is a woven fabric characterised by its distinctive ribbed texture. The ribs are created by cutting extra yarns after weaving, resulting in the soft, velvety ridges that give corduroy its unique look and feel. Depending on the wale number (this one has 4.5 wales per inch), the ribs can be fine or wide: the lower the wale number, the wider the ribs. Corduroy is durable, comfortable to wear and has a pleasant soft touch, making it ideal for garments such as trousers, jackets, skirts and children’s clothing.
