Had a wonderful time being guided through the process start to finish, from selecting my pattern size, marking, cutting, and pinning to all the many stages of sewing, serging, and ironing. Becky is incredibly knowledgeable and patient and helps you to create a garment that will look as close to a Shift dress as possible! The ability to make small changes to make it truly your own, such as bringing in your own (approved) fabric, using scrap to make your inside pocket pop, or leaving the bottom hem unfinished on denim all add to the magic of having a one of a kind dress based on tried and true patterning and durability.

becky custom made me a dress by shortening the existing pattern to fit my smaller frame. it is comfortable, flattering perfection and i wear it constantly. i really should buy a second (and third!?) so i can just live in them for all of eternity.

There’s just nothing like wild and crazy suspenders, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to buy special snazzy ones for my suspender dresses. These are wonderful. As with everything I buy from Shift+Wheeler, I recommend them highly.

I’m not going to lie, I’m a tall and fat drink of water who is always looking for a fun dress that *actually* fits. Becky took my measurements and carefully crafted my clothing to fit my long torso’d proportions. I’ve fallen in love and will be ordering more items as I continue to build a sustainable and conscious wardrobe. If you’re in the fence at all, I’m writing to assure you that you won’t regret this purchase. In the picture I included I’m wearing the gold elbow shirt as well (yes, I also love it!).

As with the other dresses, it's made to last and fits so comfortably. The pockets are like Crocodile Dundee proportions as in, "That's not a pocket. THIS is a pocket!" I can't express enough how much I appreciate a good pocket.

I'm okay with having a small wardrobe, with pieces that will last for years. When I consider how long this dress will last when compared to fast fashion, it's more than worth it. It's great to feel excited about buying clothes instead of discouraged!

If you're not sure if this dress will look good on you, it will. You'll feel so cute for yourself. Plus, the pockets.

Love the class. Nick is a great instructor, and I am learning some basic skills I will be able to use to make some cool bags. In addition to instruction, NIck has shared sources for the materials to use, which is super helpful.

Mending Circle was great! I ended up knowing one person but everyone was friendly and welcoming. I appreciated the conversations about sustainability, local creators and sewing. Made some progress on my sweater repairs as well. I'll be back for sure!
